My Theory - With technology and the world of design and advertising rapidly evolving, it’s important to adapt a “growth mindset”. What does that mean to me? It means viewing challenges as opportunities for growth and improvement. It also means valuing feedback and embracing the chance to develop new skills.

My Process - Good communication is a crucial starting point for any successful project and working relationship. Whether I am joining an organization as part of a departmental team, or working on a singular project or larger initiative, I like to begin by understanding your organization, product and service.

Once I have a firm understanding of expectations, I am able to let creativity reign. At the heart of any good visual communication is a successful application of design principles. I have a lot of experience studying, teaching and applying design fundamentals such as typography, unity, balance, hierarchy, pattern, texture, concept ideation, and color theory. Therefore, I am able to apply good design to any project whether it is using existing brand standards, applying new brand elements or developing something from scratch.

After good communication, concept or strategy and design are applied, the message has to be deployed to the appropriate channel to reach the intended audience. That’s why I stay up-to-date with print and digital standards and the latest hardware and software technology. Whether the projects require social media or a printed brochure, I have the creativity as well as the industry knowledge and technology to make it happen.

My Passions - When I am not working, I like to get my hands dirty with gardening and home improvement projects. Building and growing are my passions, both in front of my keyboard and beyond.
